Customs Declarations: Introduction To CHIEF

Hello and welcome to, A Customs & Standards Primer - Part 2 Some basics of Overseas Trade.
Video 30.

This video talks about CHIEF, the software environment, that was commonly used to make electronic customs declarations. What were the key functions and services provided? and also, some different customs-based applications that were included. The types of declarations made included import, export, transit, and pre arrival declarations. Systems that accept declarations, included five CSP database applications (Community Systems Providers) EMCS, ICS, NCTS, NES and hardcopy declarations.

Lastly, briefly introducing CFSP.
