Catherine’s story feels instantly familiar to anyone who’s ever felt out of step with the world around them. She spent years trying to keep up, navigating life as a nurse and mom while masking her constant anxiety and perfectionism, always wondering why things seemed harder than they should be. It wasn’t until her oldest son started showing signs of ADHD that everything clicked—she saw her own struggles reflected in him and realized there might be more to her story than just anxiety. Suddenly, all those years of feeling scattered and mentally exhausted made sense. Her late-in-life ADHD diagnosis brought a wave of relief, like a puzzle finally snapping together. Catherine’s journey isn’t just about finding answers for herself; it’s about embracing her neurodivergence, supporting her kids, and learning that doing things differently isn’t just okay—it’s actually a strength.,For Catherine, life as a nurse and mom of three was always a balancing act, filled with moments that never quite added up. She spent years chalking up her racing thoughts, scattered focus, and people-pleasing tendencies to anxiety, never suspecting there might be something deeper at play. It wasn’t until she recognized the same impulsivity and emotional intensity in her oldest son that she began to question her own experiences. Seeing him struggle—and thrive—with proper support made her wonder if she, too, had been missing a crucial piece of her own puzzle. That realization opened the door to a late ADHD diagnosis, changing everything. Suddenly, the exhaustion she felt from masking all day, the mental fatigue, and the need for routines made perfect sense. Catherine’s story is a reminder that understanding yourself can take time, but the relief and self-acceptance that follow are absolutely worth it.
