Building a FREE VTuber AI Assistant From Scratch (Local LLM, Voice & VSeeFace) – First Stream! (No paid APIs. No cloud. 100% local.)

This is my first ever YouTube stream and I’m diving straight into something crazy:
building a fully local AI assistant that talks, listens, and drives a VTuber avatar in VSeeFace – using only free tools.

Feel free to:

-- Ask questions about any step
-- Request code snippets or explanations
-- Suggest features (wake word, memory, personality, etc.)
-- I’m learning and experimenting live, so expect some trial and error.

By the end of this series, the goal is:

-- A local AI “brain” (LLM) using Ollama + models like llama3, phi3, etc.
-- Speech-to-Text with Whisper (faster-whisper) so it can understand my voice.
-- Text-to-Speech (TTS) with free tools (pyttsx3 / Coqui / piper) so it can talk back.
-- A simple Python GUI (Tkinter) to control everything.
-- A 3D VTuber avatar in VSeeFace that lip-syncs to the AI’s voice via a virtual audio cable.
Basically: a personal AI assistant that lives on my PC and appears as an anime-style character on screen.

-- Ollama – runs local LLMs (llama3, phi3, mistral, etc.)
-- faster-whisper – fast speech-to-text
-- TTS – pyttsx3 for simple start, or Coqui / piper for better voices

Avatar / VTubing (Not going to include in this series)

-- VRoid Studio – to design a 3D character (VRM)
-- VSeeFace – face tracking + lip sync
-- VB-Audio Virtual Cable – route AI voice into VSeeFace

GUI

-- Tkinter – basic window, chat box, buttons for “Send”, “Start Listening”, etc.

Future Streams (Planned)
-- Voice Assistant Mode:
-- Mic → Whisper → Ollama → TTS → Avatar mouth moves
-- Conversation memory (so it remembers context)
-- Wake word (e.g., “Hey Luna”)
-- Cleaner GUI with settings and model selection
-- Maybe switching to better TTS (Coqui / piper) and refining the avatar.
