They said his career was finished, so what made him successful, is about Super Rugby’s youngest ever player. A young star who flew too close to the Sun. A retroperspective peek in on the teenage sensations’ adaptability, which allowed him to man the flyhalf, or center and even cover at fullback or taking on the speedster role of wing. At 17 years old, playing Super Rugby, not long after that playing test rugby for the Wallabies. It’s the Wallabies versus All-Blacks games where he has a magnificent distinctive record. But as in all fireball introductions, there's a danger of overheating, and it was no different for this versatile utility. Almost on cue, he met those life difficulties associated with success and after a series of topsy turvy events, was able to channel them in a proper manner. But it didnt stop there! The wonderkid messed up big time again, and in his own words hit "rock bottom" while still in his early twenties.
Today, he himself is now a shining light for new upcoming rugby stars. This is the incredible story of the redemption of James O'Connor, from fame to shame and back again.
