Join me for a slow walk through Orusco de Tajuña, a tiny village in the Tajuña Valley just an hour from Madrid.
Once a busy farming community, Orusco now has fewer than 1,500 residents and is part of what Spaniards call la España vaciada—the “emptied Spain.”
As we wander its quiet streets, you’ll see centuries-old stone houses, the 16th-century Iglesia de San Juan Bautista, and the peaceful Vía Verde del Tajuña trail.
It’s hard to believe that a place so close to the capital can feel this tranquil.
If you enjoy walking tours, hidden Spanish villages, or slow travel videos, this is a perfect escape from the crowds of Madrid.
📍 Location: Orusco de Tajuña, Community of Madrid, Spain
