K1 Speed Go Karting San Francisco - Indoor Electric E Karting POV - REVIEW IN DESCRIPTION

On a recent visit to California I decided to review some of the local go karting tracks since that's what I do over in the U.K. As far as rental karting goes K1 Speed appears to be all that's on offer. I had planned to review each track as a separate entity but in all honesty I don't need to. All the tracks are electric which would be fine, we manage to have good electric karting in the U.K. but at K1 they over-control them, limiting you to crawling pace every chance they get. As much as I like that they mandate letting faster drivers past there's no opportunity for racing fun. If you want to set a good lap time, like me, then good luck because there's no overall leaderboard to see where you've placed, you can only see the top 100 in the last month. You cannot use your own cameras on the track which means you have to rely on their 720P cameras which they may place at the wrong angle or they may forget to turn them on at all. At 3 locations I had major issues with the cameras, all while I had my own 4K GoPro with me they wouldn't allow me to use. If you're used to U.K. rental karting I honestly wouldn't bother wasting your money, it's so watered down at K1 in comparison. No overalls or gloves required, I saw people driving round in shorts and sandals, coats and long hair flying around. Save your money and go to a theme park. I've made no effort with the footage, this is as it came from K1.

San Francisco was the worst experience of them all, the track was good but they had you sitting in the karts 3 races before your started so nearly 30 mins sat in your kart with a helmet on. I had 3 sessions booked but I cancelled the third one. They also didn't give me full power in my kart until the end of the session.
