🟠🚈 Double the orange! Hong Kong Light Rail 35th anniversary retro vehicle 2 - twice the fun edition

The 35th anniversary of Hong Kong Light Rail is coming soon (2023/09/18). MTR launched various activities with the theme “Ride to Connect, Ride to Discover”. The first one is a retro-themed vehicle. The orange livery was used between 1988 and 2000 on phase 1 and 2 vehicles. The 2 retro vehicles are refurbished Phase 1 Vehicle no. 1066 and 1001. No 1066 was on 08/20 at Siu Hong Stop and then started operating on the oldest route of Light Rail, Route 610. No. 1001 started operating on 08/25. They operate as a 2-car train (1066+1001 formation) on Route 610 currently and will begin service on other routes soon.

輕鐵即將迎來35週年紀念日（2023年9月18日），港鐵因此以「載•相見 載•發現」舉辦慶祝活動，首先推出兩輛復刻列車。復刻列車採用的橙色塗裝是輕鐵曾在1988至2000年使用的塗裝，用於一期及二期列車，而採用復刻塗裝的列車是翻新的一期列車1066號和1001號。1066號於8月20日在兆康在亮相，然後於翌日在610綫上開始行駛。其後在8月25日，1001號投入服務，於1066號連結成雙卡車行走於610綫。兩輛列車未來會在其他路線上行駛。
