This is a (mostly) unedited version of video footage taken on section 2 of the 150-mile London LOOP (Outer Orbital Pathway), from Bexley and almost to Petts Wood. Filmed in 4K with a DJI Pocket 2 and wide-angle lens on 21 April 2022. Warning: contains pointless (and occasionally inaudible) maunderings, and a somewhat sudden ending. (The video at • London LOOP section 2 (epilogue): the came... shows the aftermath.)
I filmed the missing conclusion of this section when I headed over for the start of section 3, from Petts Wood to Hayes (Kent); you can find the video at • London LOOP section 2 (conclusion) .
BIG shout-out to DJI for making a gimballed camera (and the wide-angle lens, which detached on impact) that survived a 6-foot drop onto a dirt path and still functioned perfectly afterwards. The same couldn't be said of my forehead, though, but a bit of glue in A&E worked wonders. My thanks to the staff at Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, for their care, and to Caroline, who kindly accompanied me to a place of safety while the ambulance came.
I'm walking the LOOP partly for my health (ha!) but mostly to raise money for the 150th anniversary (sesquicentenary - there's a word for it!) of Christ Church, Colliers Wood, London, in 2024. This is the twentieth section of the path walked this time round; section 1 of the full LOOP starts in Erith. In due course I plan to edit the video down from this full version and add some actual information!
