DISAPPEARING/REAPPEARING HALLOWEEN NAIL DESIGN

Hey, guys. To continue the Halloween tradition I am going to be creating a bat nail today! OMG! But there's a twist... this bat nail design can disappear and reappear due to a temperature change. OMG! How cool is that?

First of all for the background of the nail I am going to be creating an ombre using Glastonbury Nights which is a gorgeous purple and Glass Heart which is a gorgeous blue glitter gel polish...but I think it should be called Heart of Glass like the Blondie song...and we are also going to be using Blue Reflection which is a nice pigmented blue and I'm then gonna topcoat it and cure it so that there's no sticky layer.

Next, I'm going to give it a quick buff in order to make the surface nice and smooth so that I can paint on top of it and then give it a quick wipe over with gel residue remove to get rid of any dust particles and then I'm going to get some of the black polycolor paint and create a wash with it using a little bit of water. We are now going to go around the border to create a vignette type filter...or colour grade as Adam likes to call it.

I will now create the Halloween scene, so I'm going to start with the moon by sketching out a circle using the Titanium White polycolor paint and it needs to be a full moon because I think full moons are the spookiest and then we are going to add craters to it by doing a little shading with the black polycolor paint. I am then going to use the black polycolor to create some little bat shapes.

Finally, I am going to etch out a little graveyard towards the bottom of the nail using the black polycolor paint and then I'm going to add a few branches towards the top of the nail to give it an extra spooky effect and then we are going to create the magic effect by adding a coat of Flip Side from the Thermochromic range! OMG!

So, I'm gonna take off the sticky layer with the Gel Residue Remove so that I can apply more of the graveyard to the design which will give it a cool 3D perspective effect and then I'm going to topcoat it!

Now if I dip the nail in cold water the design will disappear and it will go black however if I dip it into warm water the design magically reappears!
