Today my friend Megan and I took a regional train in Italy, operated by Trenitalia, to travel from Torino to Genova.
We embarked our train at the Turin Porta Nuova station and quickly realised that this was a new and fairly clean train. The ride took around 2 hours with various stops along the scenic route.
From my understanding, this is the most standard regional train in Italy and they run all over the country in addition to the bullet trains (HSR).
