Is an AI-generated portrait really you or is it a step too far? In this short version of a longer conversation, I break down why I believe a fully AI-generated image should not be presented as you, even if it looks convincing.
I explain the difference between photography and AI generation, from light, lens, sensor and raw data to processing and ethics. We look at where the line is crossed, why intention matters, and why asking people close to you changes the answer. This is not anti-AI, but a call to think more carefully about identity, representation, and how far we are willing to go.
