Beautiful New Mosaic Tiles Installed at the Basilica's Queen of Heaven Columbarium

Leia D. Tenuta, a marketing specialist at St. Jude Liturgical Arts, shared about the beautiful mosaic murals that were installed last week at the parish's Queen of Heaven Columbarium as niche end panels. The Azulejo tiles had images adapted from the works of the great Spanish Baroque era artist, Bartolome Esteban Murillo. A copy of one of his most famous images of "The Immaculate Conception" graces the ceiling of the Basilica.
The Azulejo tiles are painted ceramic tiles that hold great importance in Portuguese culture and architecture. They have been used for centuries to decorate buildings, churches, palaces, and homes, and today they are a key element of Portuguese cultural heritage.
