Nestor Makhno was a Ukrainian Anarchist revolutionary who led the Black Army during the Russian Civil War. His forces fought for an independent autonomous territory founded on the principles of anarchism and communism, and saw clashes with the White, Red and local nationalist factions. His legacy in post-Soviet and post-Maidan Ukraine today sees him as a controversial figure, and this video examines how his legacy and mythos has been coopted by factions from all over the political spectrum.
