You have all been requesting this for a long time. Thank you for your patience! Today I am releasing a Thevaram tutorial in the raga Kamboji composed by the legend Thirugnanasambandar.

Carnatic Music like many other forms of music gives a lot of creative freedom to the artist. However, there are some ground rules that shaped this artform and helped it evolve across centuries before it gained its present glorious form. Following these rules is essential to bring out the best form of a kriti. This is also why it is important to listen to how the greats have sung a particular song and to learn it from an experienced guru (teacher).

This Thevaram has been sung beautifully by Muthu Kandasamy Desikar Oduvar. I have recorded this tutorial to match his rendition for the benefit of all of you. Hope you find it useful!
