From Botanical Gel Prints to Finished Collage

During the summer, I printed a large stash of botanical gel prints on tissue. Now that winter is here and my garden is covered in snow, I’m bringing those summer botanicals back into my artwork.

In this video, I share the full process of creating a finished mixed media collage. You’ll see how I choose botanical prints based on shape, colour, and composition, how I narrow down my options, and how those early decisions guide the collage as it comes together. I also show how I use thin layers of paint to accentuate the shapes that first caught my eye.

This video is about pulling it all together—making thoughtful choices and letting the materials guide the work from start to finish.
