Tom had lived in Brussels for years, but had always felt a distance between himself and the city. That is, until a series of unconnected events (an argument with an internet troll, his child being born, a contentious city policy, reading an inspiring book) incited him to learn about and get involved in his not-so-new home - and ultimately, to build a community that wanted to do the same. Tom is the founder of Restless Brussels, a community that brings international people in Brussels closer to the city. The community learns about the issues facing and forces transforming the city by meeting the people working on them - in politics, activism, academia, business and more. As his day job, Tom is Director of a communications agency that serves clients such as the EU institutions and the OECD, as well as various NGOs and associations.
