Notes from John Robert about this arrangement:
I did not expect to find myself so engrossed in a game about managing a stable (no pun intended) of anime horse girls this year, and I certainly didn’t expect said game to have absolutely incredible music to accompany its surprisingly impactful and emotionally resonant sports-anime storytelling. Naturally, I had to do something about it.

“Umamusume: Pretty Derby” was a delight on many fronts, and that was due in no small part to the truly outstanding work the team of talented composers at Cygames put in. Stirring, exciting, and with true thematic connective tissue, it was hard to even decide on a piece to cover, but I felt that the scope and progression of Kenta Higashioji’s “URA Finale!!”, along with its featured place in the game, made it a sound choice to adapt to our little ensemble.
