Shill bidding at Mecum AZ auction 2020. At about 1:04 mark, bidder assistant asks seller "is that your guy?". Seller responds: "I don't have a guy". Then Frank Mecum makes him an offer to sell the car, and seller asks who high bidder is and he points him out, and seller says" that's my guy". Bidder assistant says "you told me you don't have a guy". Moral of this video is to warn people attending an auction (any auction) that there are probably shill bidders raising the price of item you are bidding on. I bet this happens a lot more than people realize. Auction biz should be more regulated. I don't think they have any regulations forbidding this type of dirty trick.
