Drop D. Yes, another cover of a song called Ship of Fools. This one goes out to the man that saved me from myself nearly 10 years ago. Great song with a bizarre bassline. I checked out a bunch of live versions and it's clear everyone is just winging it. The first 35 seconds or so is lifted from the recording, but the rest of the song is just me jamming along. To the best of my knowledge, this is the second song I've covered that references one of Plato's allegories (the other being No One Know My Plan by TMBG).
For the uninitiated: The ship of fools is an allegory, originating from Book VI of Plato's Republic, about a ship with a dysfunctional crew. The allegory is intended to represent the problems of governance prevailing in a political system not based on expert knowledge.
