Welcome to Greenpete Devon's channel. Making #rivets isn't hard, and #peening cold rivets with #hammers is an ancient skill that's worth mastering. You can save money and make your tools last for years. Some of my #gardening tools end up on my #anvils one day, and that's today. In this #workshop tutorial you'll see how to easily make your own rivet, and how to mend a broken #shovel handle at little or no cost. All part of a #sustainable #lifestyle.
Rule number one: never throw anything away which might come in useful one day. In this case there was no need to go out and buy new rivets; I used a very simple and cheap alternative.
You'll see some of my old country #tools, and my self-made handles fashioned from various species of wood salvaged from hedging and tree-felling. Gardening tools break and wear out from heavy use but they're easily fixed, when you know how.
