🔶 Modbus 𝗥𝗧𝗨 vs 𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣
1️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Uses Ethernet, allowing for wide-area network (WAN) compatibility.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Uses serial communication (RS-485/RS-232), generally limited to local networks.
2️⃣ 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Higher data transfer speeds over Ethernet.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Slower, but adequate for small data transmissions typical in industrial settings.
3️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Susceptible to Ethernet network congestion but handles large, complex systems well.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Very reliable for simple, point-to-point communications, less vulnerable to network issues.
4️⃣ 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Requires more complex Ethernet infrastructure.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Simplified wiring, especially suited for daisy-chain topologies.
5️⃣ 𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Allows for a high number of devices in larger networks.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Supports fewer devices due to address limitations.
6️⃣ 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 :
𝗧𝗖𝗣/𝗜𝗣 : Better for larger, complex systems needing faster data rates.
𝗥𝗧𝗨 : Common in smaller setups and legacy systems.
