Silica Wax Chain Review at 568KM | 2022

Review of @silca_velo secret wax chain after 569KM. Still quiet and pretty clean. I’ve only ridden it during dry conditions. Loving wax chain! Next review at 1000km or needing a wax. Though I’m off season now and on vaca. Might be a little while before 1000km 😅

What I did - with help from insta @coachdurner
soak new chain in mineral spirits overnight
turn on crock pot with wax! I have this

I use insta @silca_velo “secret Chain” wax
put it in a new bottle with new mineral spirits. Shake for a couple mins
soak in rubbing alcohol for 10mins - shake a little at the start

take it out hang dry
put it in the crockpot for 10mins total
5mins into the crockpot ^ use a hanger to move the chain around and soak for another 10mins
use a hanger to take it out and hang it over the crockpot or outside
break the links with a broom stick
clean the links with a industrial scrub brush

put it on the bike
ride for an hour and changing gears.
