Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) wrote three dozen fantasies for keyboard in the years 1732/33. With “keyboard” I mean: harpsichord, clavichord or organ. The term "fantasy" indicates that the form is not fixed, but that the player also has a lot of freedom in terms of interpretation: the player must make it clear that he is playing a fantasy. The first dozen Telemann wrote in German style, the second in French style and the third in Italian style. These 36 fantasies are mostly two-part. I play the upper voice on my eolina and the lower voice on the harpsichord. Because the eolina is a wind instrument, I can apply a lot of expressiveness, such as dynamics, articulation and vibrato. Actually it is a cultivated melodica.
