How to Write a Personal Narrative (Part 1) | Teach My Class I ELA Lessons for Middle School

Help for ELA Teachers! It’s time to sit back and take a break while I teach your class! ELA lessons made easy...just click, project for your kids, and let me do the teaching. In this video, we will conduct a mini-lesson on writing a rough draft for a narrative.

Here’s what you need to know:
-For the best viewing quality, go to the settings button and click "4K" for "Quality".
-Mini-lessons should be about 15-20 minutes long.
-This lesson is about 15 minutes, but you will need a few minutes for “turn and talk” discussion and about 4 minutes for the mentor "text" (short film), "The Present". This is available on YouTube with this link:

-It is helpful to have your kids know who their partner is for the “turn and talk” portion.
-Although I provided a mentor text as a short film, you can use any mentor text you prefer.
-If you would like a copy of the lesson to put on your students’ digital learning platform as well as a copy of the guided notes, it is available in my TPT store.
