This is a short video showing how to remove and replace the steering coupler from a Mercedes R107 and W113 from inside the car.
This method does not entail disconnecting the track rod end tie rod ends Having the car up on a ramp. You do have to remove the bolts which hold the steering box to the side of the car.
It is incredibly easy to miss align the steering wheel to the steering box splines. Before you remove the coupler from the steering box you need to mark exactly which spline it came off or ideally use the special Mercedes locking bolt. This bolt goes into the steering box and locks the steering in the forward position.
