San Diego Zoo Urban Jungle

Located near the Australian Outback we find the Urban Jungle. Here we will get up close viewings of Giraffe's Endangered one-horned rhinos, Flamingos and Cheetahs. San Diego Zoos Urban Jungle is also home to an interactive zone where the Animals in Action program takes place.

The largest exhibit in Urban Jungle is home to Masai Giraffes, which share this habitat with the smaller Soemmerring's Gazelle. Low feeding stations line the front of the exhibit so guest's can watch the giraffe's eat.

The middle area is home to the Greater One-Horned Rhino (Indian Rhino) here we learn that San Diego Global provides support and funding for Indian Rhino conservation efforts in India, Nepal and Sumatra.

On the other side of the Giraffe habitat we find a shared habitat for Female Grant's Zebra Zari & Female Miniature Mediterranean Donkey Sophia.

Other exhibits include Southern Ground Hornbills, Flamingos, Red Kangaroo' and Fennec Fox.

Near Animals in Action area we can see a Kookaburra. The Animals in Action Experience is a one hour program that has an extra charge, here you will have an interactive experience as animals are brought our for up-close iews. Expert wildlife behavior specialists will also take you behind the scenes to learn more about the Animal Ambassadors.

The last exhibit in Urban Jungle is home to South African Cheetah's.
