How to Plant Herb Pots for Beginners! || Black Gumbo

If you have never gardened before, think you have a brown thumb, or are simply interested in showing someone else how easy it can be to garden, this video is for you. Of course, its also for anyone looking for ideas on how to grow herbs. I'll show how to grow herbs in pots and small containers. Its super easy and you can find quick success! Learn how to choose a planting container, what to look for in a bag of soil, how to buy plants, and how to care for them.

Here are some additional tips:

1. Keep your herbs well-trimmed. Harvest frequently. Growing in small pots will quickly get out of control if you do not keep the plants small by trimming and harvesting.

2. Fertilize with a half-strength l;iquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks. Plants in small containers will quickly use up the nutrition in the soil.

3. Water - keep the soil moist, not water logged. The larger the plant, the quicker they use up water.

4. Special care for rosemary and lavender - they don't need as much water and don't need much fertilizer. In fact, I don't care for my rosemary at all and they do better.
