Saint Piran's Weekend 2000
The celebrations that took place over the weekend and Many of the 4th, 5th, and 6th of March 2000, were some of the most comprehensive and spectacular to have taken place over Cornwall in many years, possibly, ever.
The state television services chose to virtually ignore this important date in the Cornish calendar hence "Pellwolok Gernewek" has rushed this video into print in order that those who took part in the events portrayed, may have a record of them. We apologise for being unable to cover every event. It was not until late on the evening of 4th March that we became aware that despite assurances, the local television companies were not going to give the weekend any meaningful coverage. As far as we are aware, the BBC gave a mere 30 seconds coverage. We sincerely hope that as ever, we have redressed the balance.
