Shira Rabin, violin | Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra | Conductor: Rudolf Barschai | Live recording from 14/15 February 1991, Munich, Germany (Münchner Philharmonie am Gasteig) | On these two evenings – her debut in Munich – Shira Rabin played on a Stradivarius violin from 1715, which was loaned to her by the Swiss Habisreutinger Foundation. Education: Studied at the Julliard School with Dorothy DeLay. Debut: Played with the Israel Philharmonic 1979. Career: Appeared in the International Huberman Week with Isaac Stern and the Israel Philharmonic 1983; Toured Europe 1983, Canada coast-to-coast tour 1985; Played with Henryk Szeryng during Israel Philharmonic Jubilee Season 1987; Soloist in the Stradivarius Year in Cremona; Israel representative in Italian Nights of Music with Zubin Metha; Gala concert at Carnegie Hall with Isaac Stern; Musical Discovery of 1989 in Italy, after recital debut in Milan; German debut Feb 1991, with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra; US debut 1992 with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Riccardo Muti; Further concerts with the Pittsburgh Orchestra under Lorin Maazel.
