How To Play Marisa In Year 3

It’s Year 3 and you still want to improve with Marisa? (Respect.)
Most people jump into combo/Oki optimization, but lack the blueprint for Marisa's gameplan.
This leads to stagnation down the road.

Most people try to play Marisa like a YOLO gorilla: constant Drive Rush, random Gladius, jump-ins, “force my turn” at all costs. That works… until it doesn’t. Higher ranks will just check, neutral jump, and punish you.

Instead, think of Marisa as a slow, forward-advancing counter-puncher:
Earn respect first by shutting down neutral skips (DR, jump, DI, fireballs)
Use walk in / walk out movement to bait buttons and punish whiffs
Slowly walk them to the corner, then punish their escape attempts
Only when they’re scared to press, you “cash in” with 6HK buffers / DR cancel mix
