I stumbled across this card on a seller's eBay store while searching for several other cards on my list and as I sometimes do, if I find a few cards from one seller, I'll look at their entire eBay store to see what else looks interesting or could fill a team / player / set in my collection. I was able to find this card for just under $5 but the story and research behind the player was worth more than $5.
The back of this 1954 Bowman really caught my eye, on top of him being a Chicago Cub. I didn't know much about this player but was able to find some interesting pre and post baseball facts about Dee Fondy, including his service during World War II.
