Can all stories be pointing to the same underlying truth? Take the Lion King and Hamlet as an example. Shakespeare’s tragedy and Disney’s animated classic couldn’t be more different. One ends in despair, the other in triumph. And yet, beneath the surface, they follow almost the exact same storyline.
A murdered father. A jealous uncle. A young prince searching for his identity. Betrayal, loss, and the struggle for justice.
In this video, I explore how these stories mirror the same moral truths and how that helps us understand religion. Just as Hamlet and Simba point to the same underlying themes through different endings, the world’s religions use different myths, symbols, and rituals to express the same deeper reality: compassion, justice, and oneness.
✨ What you’ll learn in this video:
How Hamlet and The Lion King tell the same story in different ways
Why stories and religions differ in form but not in essence
The golden rule hidden across all traditions
How compassion and unity lie at the heart of human storytelling
Why focusing on the story alone can make us miss the truth behind it
Whether you love Shakespeare, Disney, or the world’s great religions, this talk will show you how all stories, ancient or modern, are really pointing to the same thing.
