মদইয়ান শহর ছিল সমৃদ্ধ ও ব্যস্ত—গম, খেজুর, সোনা-রুপার ঝনঝনানিতে ভরা। কিন্তু তাদের ব্যবসায় ছিল এক ভয়ংকর গুনাহ—মাপে ও ওজনে কম দেওয়া, মানুষের হক নষ্ট করা, আর প্রতারণা। আল্লাহ তাদের কাছে পাঠালেন দয়ালু ও ন্যায়পরায়ণ নবী হযরত শু‘আইব (আ.), যিনি সতর্ক করলেন—"মাপ ও ওজন ঠিক রাখো, অন্যায় করো না, আল্লাহকে ভয় করো।"

কিন্তু অহংকারী মদইয়ানবাসী শোনেনি। অবশেষে নেমে এলো আল্লাহর ভয়াবহ শাস্তি—ভূমিকম্প ও প্রচণ্ড শব্দে মুহূর্তের মধ্যে শহর ধ্বংস হয়ে গেল। এই কাহিনি কুরআন ও সহীহ হাদিসে বর্ণিত, যা আমাদের জন্য এক কঠিন সতর্কবার্তা।

But the arrogant people of Madyan refused to listen. At last, Allah’s severe punishment descended—an earthquake and a mighty blast wiped out the entire city in moments. This story is narrated in the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, serving as a powerful warning for us today.
