Using and Modeling Your Degree Audit Report (DARS):
[00:04] What is a Degree Audit Report (DARS)?
DARS is a feature on MyUCLA that allows you to view past and present coursework, check credit status, and monitor degree progress.
[00:09] Accessing DARS
You can access your DARS by going to the “Academics” tab at the top of the MyUCLA webpage, looking under “Academic Profile,” then clicking “Degree Progress/Audit Report.” Next, click on “Continue to DARs” followed by “Run Audit.” Make sure “Run Current Programs” is selected then scroll down to “Run Audit.”
[00:20] Viewing DARs
After clicking “Run Audit,” you will wait a few seconds for your degree audit report to generate. Then, click on “View Audit.”
At the very top of your DARS, you will find important information, such as your university identification number (UID), admit term, counseling unit, majors and minors, GPA, and units.
To view any credit or transferred coursework outside of UCLA, click on “Advanced Standing Credit.”
To view any completed or in progress courses at UCLA, click on “UCLA Coursework.”
To review the completion of University and College requirements, refer to “American History & Institutions,” “Entry-Level Writing/ESL,” “Diversity,” “Writing I,” “Writing II,” “Quantitative Reasoning,” and “Foreign Language.”
To review General Education requirements, refer to “Foundations of the Arts and Humanities,” “Foundations of Society and Culture,” “Foundations of Scientific Inquiry,” and “Foundations of Scientific Inquiry - Lab/Demo.” Transfer students should refer to the “General Education Exemption Status.”
For major and minor requirements, check all sections that contain the name of your major/minor.
For unit requirements, check the “Upper Division Requirement,” “Minimum 160 Units,” and “216 Unit Maximum.”
[00:50] Modeling DARS
Are you interested in adding a minor or another major? Interested in switching majors? You can model a degree audit report for majors/minors that are not declared. Instead of clicking “Run a Current Program,” click on “Run Selected Program.” Select your College/School, the Catalog Year (i.e. the quarter you were admitted to UCLA), and then select the major catalog year (i.e. the current quarter or the quarter you declared the major) and the major/minor. Add majors and minors you are interested in. Then click “Run Audit” and proceed to review your DARs as usual (refer to “Viewing DARs” above).
