Here we have a brand new 5 inch gauge Prairie "Firefly" numbered 4555 at The Steam Workshop, in this video this was the loco's first ever fire, so doing the steam test we do an accumulation test to make sure the safety valve blows at the correct pressure, 90psi, and that it doesnt go above that pressure and the safety valves release enough pressure and drops, we also test the axle pump and injector as you need 2 methods of water feeds for steam test, both work well, it also has a hand pump, we also blow down the gauge glass to make sure its clear and gives an accurate reading. The loco passes with flying colors, we give the loco a run on the rolling road for a bit to let everything bed in. Steam brake works aswell which is a rarity on models.
