Heythrop Hunt trespass through rescue animals on 6th December 2025 (Part One)

Well, well, well... it will hardly surprise you that yet another post about a Heythrop Hunt meet shows that they believe they are above the law (various laws as well, we're not just talking the Hunting Act here) and just don't seem to care at all about trauma caused to domestic, farmed, rescued, and wild animals alike, nor other humans. And apparently "I'm new here" is seen as an appropriate excuse.
They first went to Slaughter Woods, with terrierman Ollie Street seen on point near the dairy. There were multiple foot followers in position, but the hunt moved away very quickly from there through Lower Swell and some of the mounted field were soon seen near Pole’s Plantation.
Hounds were found in the land surrounding Swell Wold Farm. It's well worth noting that the North Cotswold Hunt had been in this area only last Saturday, which means that local wildlife are constantly disturbed! Shooting was also heard. They hunted a fox here and we understand that they also rioted on deer.
From here they headed into the top of Eyford Park and spent some time there before hounds were heard marking near Warden’s Way. A man in a white van threw coffee over one sab as he drove past, and was then verbally aggressive to another sab who filmed his vehicle, swerving his vehicle towards the sab and the hunt stalker who was behind. He was seen later in position as though to watch the hunt, though they claim he is nothing to do with them.
They second-horsed at Eyford and were seen at Eyford Knoll. Many hunt supporters were waiting around Granny’s Bank and it looked as though that was the next port of call, but one of our teams then lost them for a bit.
All eyes were on that one sab car, and the two sabs within, with all stalkers following us, while another sab’ found them hunting a fox through Hill Barn near Naunton. This really shook things up and the terriermen became very aggressive towards her. As she relayed her position the rest of us responded, calling the police en route. The hounds came through a farm and the sab on the phone to the police simultaneously continued speaking to the call operator AND stopped the pack with whip and voice - not bad multi-tasking!
It then transpired that the Heythrop have been banned from that land for decades, and that many rescued animals had been disturbed by the hounds running through. Josh Tierney, kennel huntsman and Jamie Cox, who was field master (in charge of the mounted field) both arrived at the farm entrance, with Josh even finding time to threaten one sab instead of focusing on the pack.

When sabs relayed the details of the hunt staff to the landowner, they referred to Ollie Dale as the "huntsman". A highly offensive error apparently, considering the response of the whipper-in who was still not focusing on the pack like he should have been. We think certain people need to get their priorities straight, and maybe not act quite so pedantic and petty in front of a distressed landowner...
(Master) Huntsman Ollie Dale tried to call the hounds back just north of Naunton, though the pack were very keen indeed to continue hunting; eventually they were called back. It was by then 15.30 and they went through the land towards Harfordhill Farm as the police arrived. We don't know why one of the stalkers in a hunt vehicle was stopped by them, but we have an inkling it may have been to do with the broken registration plate we've repeatedly told them they need to fix recently (and which they clearly don't think is important to get seen to).
You're not above the law, and saying you're new to the area and don't know where you're allowed to hunt is a pretty awful attempt at justification. Even you can do better Ollie.
