This week we have Jay Readey who lives in Chicago. Jay was a founding board member of the Chicago Randonneurs and now serves as president. He started long distance riding at a remarkably young age. He did his first centuries at the age of 14, his first double at 15, and his first 24 hour ride at 16. At 19 he set a distance record of 373 miles at the Michigan 24 hour Nationals and qualified for RAAM.
He then took a 32 year hiatus from long distance returning for PBP 2023 at the age of 51. Unfortunately, due to a number of mishaps he ended up DNF’ing PBP in 2023.
