• About Vanessa’s family (in my au):

Irene Fitzgerald died at child birth after giving birth to Vanessa. Vanessa’s father, Arnold Fitzgerald, who was emotionally unstable after the death of his wife, blamed it all on Vanessa (she blamed it on herself too).

One day, when Vanessa was on the way home from school (she was 14), she was kidnpped by a bunch of drunk men with a desire to… ‘do something’ to her. Luckily, her oldest brother, Rhys Fitzgerald, rushed to her in time. However, it resulted in his death. When Rhys fought off the men for Vanessa, he told Vanessa to run. Vanessa listened and called for help. But, when she got back, what met her was Rhys’ lifeless body. Luckily, the men were arrested. When Vanessa got back home, her father, out of fury, blamed Vanessa for the death of Rhys Fitzgerald. Vanessa, who wasn’t in an emotionally stable state, blamed it on herself too.

Then came the day of Evan’s birthday. A week before, Vanessa and Michael had argued. Jeremy, who’d always idolised Michael, took this chance to approach Michael and join his group. Unbeknownst to him, Vanessa and Michael had already reconciled the day before. After the bite, Arnold Fitzgerald, knowing it was Michael’s plan, forced Vanessa to stay away from Michael. Vanssa refused, especially since Michael was the only emotional support of her life. Initially, she ran to Michael’s house to avoid her family for about a week. But Michael’s house situation was a wreck too. Especially since Elizabeth had went missing and Evan was in a coma (who later didn’t survive and passed) and may rumours of William murdering his wife. Michael and Vanessa then decided to elope, to run away from their problems.

After Vanessa and Michael went missing, Jeremy blamed it on himself. Arnold was a wreck. He sent many investigations and went in debt to search for Vanessa. And soon, 1987 came quickly with no results. Jeremy, out of desperation to look for his sister, decided to investigate himself. However, it ended in his death during the bite of ‘87. Arnold was soon choked to death by loan sharks.
