The 22nd annual Detroit Tree Lighting event in Campus Martius Park, presented by the DTE Energy Foundation, marked the official start of the holiday season with thousands attending. Key figures such as Evette Hollins from DTE Energy, Eric Larson from the Downtown Detroit Partnership, and Mayor Mike Duggan, alongside his wife, shared messages of community and hope. The event featured speeches from Bob Riney of Henry Ford Health, Detroit Chief of Police Todd Bettison, and culminated in a countdown led by Santa Claus to light the iconic holiday tree.
