How To Fix Tesla Model X Driver-Side Bench Seat Easy Entry Sliders

My driver-side 2nd row bench seat failed on my Tesla, and wouldn't slide forward when I pressed the Easy Entry button. After a lot of research and finally figuring out how to fix it, I couldn't believe how common it was that Tesla Service Centers would charge people thousands of dollars to fully replace replace their seats to address this. The same failing part can also cause the seat to not lock to the track - just sliding back and forth. I'm publishing this video to show owners and service centers how to properly diagnose and address this common problem with the Track Release Actuator (Part 1108744-00-D) in the hope of saving people thousands and wasting so many seats.

When this part fails, there are two possible symptoms. Either your seat slides uncontrollably and won't lock to the track, or when you use the Easy Entry button, you can't slide the seat forward to access the back seats. You may have this warning on your dash: "The second row seat is not locked on the track" "Push seat base forward then rearward"
