Canada's role in D-Day: The Juno Beach Centre & Canadian War Cemetery at Bény-sur-Mer
Juno Beach on the Normandy coast of France is where Canadian forces played a crucial role in the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944. This video takes you inside the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer, the only museum in Normandy dedicated solely to Canada's role in World War II. We also go to the Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, the final resting place of over 2,000 Canadian soldiers who gave their lives in the Battle of Normandy.
What You Will See in This Video
Juno Beach Centre – A museum built by Canadian veterans to honor those who served
D-Day Exhibits – Artifacts, personal stories, and interactive displays bringing history to life
German Bunkers – Remnants of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall defenses
Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery – A tribute to Canada’s fallen heroes
Visiting Juno Beach and Beny-sur-Mer is a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the sacrifices made by so many. If you ever have the chance to visit, it is a deeply moving experience and an essential stop for anyone interested in history.
