This is an antique Swiss cartel style music box from the Bremond company, circa 1880-1890. The box was made and marketed for English speaking countries, most likely The United States. The box features 4-1/2" brass cylinder which plays 6 airs (tunes), a hand crank, a stop/ play lever, as well as a change/ repeat lever. The original tune card is in place, which depicts the "Isle Rousseau" in Lake Geneva. The mechanical components of this piece have been professionally serviced and restored by the seller, Music Box Repair Center Unlimited. The restoration was a major overhaul which included 22 new dampers, replacing 3 comb tips, lubricating the main spring, servicing the governor, cleaning and polishing the musical cylinder, installing a new jewel (Ruby), as well as a number of other services. The exterior of the box is distressed, which is commensurate with it's age There is a visible crack in the bottom of the case (see photos). The cabinet does not lock..
