Racing against weather, Buxton cleanup accelerates

Wednesday was a beautiful day along the Buxton shoreline, with sunshine glistening the low tide as it calmly blanketed the mostly empty beach, which looked a lot better than it did a week prior. In the wake of eight homes collapsing into the Atlantic, debris scattered all across the shoreline, yards and driveways. It was everywhere — boards, nails, furniture, appliances, air conditioner units and whatever was left in those homes. As of Wednesday, it was all neatly piled along Old Lighthouse Road.
