Torneado de Cuenco sin Mandril, Primer Método

En este video muestro cómo hacer un pequeño cuenco de almés pasmado usando un método de sujeción del taco de madera que no involucra un plato de garras o mandril. Básicamente uso un plato de tornillos al cual aseguro un bloque de pegado al cual pego el taco a tornear. Ejecuto el torneado externo lo más que puedo y el torneado interno, de ahí separo la pieza del bloque de pegado, formo una espiga en éste último para que entre a presión la boca del cuenco y de ahí termino la base. El método es útil para piezas relativamente chicas, ya que de otra forma la espiga tendría que ser muy grande y vuelve el método impráctico.
In this video I show how to make a small spalted hackberry bowl using a method to hold the blank that does not involve a chuck. Basically, I use a face plate to which I screw on a glue block. To the glue block I attach with hot glue the blank. Then I proceed to turn the exterior as much as possible, and the interior. From there I detach the piece from the glue block, I make a tenon to jam the mouth of the bowl and finish the base. The method is useful for relatively small pieces, since if the piece were large, the tenon would have to be pretty large as well and the method becomes a bit impractical.
