How to change your rear hatch lift supports

Over time the gas in the openers of a hood or a trunk will leak out and no longer support the weight. This especially happens during the winter when the temperature causes the volume of gas to be lower. It can be annoying when trying to work on a vehicle or put things away in the back hatch. The fix is relatively cheap depending upon the quality you want to replace with, but it not a difficult repair.
NOTE: Be sure to use a support to hold up the trunk or the hatch while performing the repair to prevent it from falling on your head.
