The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has officially explained the reasons behind the suspension of MLA Arvind Mahapatra. Addressing a press conference, BJD General Secretary Amaresh Patra stated that Arvind Mahapatra betrayed the party and the people of Patkura after receiving the party ticket.

According to the party, BJD had been collecting information on Arvind Mahapatra’s activities for the past 22 months. Despite being given multiple opportunities by party president Naveen Patnaik and being entrusted with important responsibilities, Arvind allegedly engaged in corruption and anti-party activities.

Amaresh Patra said the party’s decision was taken based on concrete evidence and not without facts. He also alleged that Arvind Mahapatra not only betrayed the party but also the voters of Patkura. The controversy has added a dramatic twist to Odisha’s political landscape.
