People learn hang gliding by feel and often can't tell you what they actually "do". I love analysing what is happening and what my body learns (or doesn't learn!) to do as second nature. This helps me tune my flying and build better habits.
This video goes over the events of the cart (aka trolley - I use both terms in the video) portion of an aerotow launch. Maybe it wasn't quite the simple waiting game to be off that you thought?
