TKB-022PM is an experimental assault rifle developed in the Soviet Union in the early 1960s by designer German Alexandrovich Korobov at the Tula Design Bureau (TKB). This weapon was created as part of a competition to develop a new automatic carbine for the Soviet army, which was supposed to have improved characteristics compared to the AK-47.
Main Features of the TKB-022PM:
1. Bullpup Configuration: This means that the magazine and action of the weapon are located behind the trigger, allowing the overall length of the weapon to be significantly reduced without shortening the barrel.
2. Unusual Design: The TKB-022PM had a very futuristic appearance for its time, with smooth contours and a minimalist design.
3. Reduced Recoil and Increased Accuracy: Thanks to its construction and reduced recoil impact, the weapon provided more stable firing.

5. Caliber: The weapon used the standard 7.62×39 mm cartridge, the same as the AK-47.

The TKB-022PM remained a prototype but had a significant impact on future developments of bullpup-configured weapons. Although this rifle did not become standard in the Soviet army, its design and technical solutions showcased the potential of new approaches in small arms development.
