Bobtail Lizards are also known as Shinglebacks among many other names across Australia. Their scientific name is Tiliqua rugosa (rugosa is from the word rugose, meaning rough, wrinkled or ridged and describes the large scales). The local Noongar people often refer to this large skink as Yoorn.
It is a unique lizard, found only in Australia and has many interesting features. In this video you will learn why it is sometimes known as the two-headed lizard, whether or not it is dangerous or poisonous, how it reproduces, what it's diet consists of, and much much more.
