Blackstone Point Oysters: Farming Maine’s Iconic Damariscotta River Oysters

Join us on the Damariscotta River in Midcoast Maine, home to Blackstone Point Oysters, a growing farm founded in 2016. Over the last decade, the farm has expanded into a thriving operation with nursery, bottom-culture, and top-culture leases, as well as intertidal harvesting sites. Their raft is the heart of the farm, where the team tends to the oysters daily.
Today, 60–70% of Maine’s oysters are grown right here on the river. Visitors can explore the region through oyster tours, visit their sister restaurant Shuck Station to taste oysters from across the river, or follow the Maine Oyster Trail to experience flavors from different parts of the state.
